There was a great balalaika concert in Guangzhou!
On November 29, 2018, the concert of the National Academic Orchestra of Folk Instruments of Russia named after N.P.Osipov took place in the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, becoming a bright and memorable event in the cultural life of Guangzhou. The concert was presented by the Government of Moscow as a gift to the residents of Guangzhou.
The special sound of folk instruments, the culture of sound, and the highest level of professional skill allow the orchestra to occupy an honorable place among the unique phenomena of Russian art. The band is rightfully considered one of the “business cards” of Russia, its performances are very popular not only in their native country, but also abroad. He has numerous performances at the best world venues in Europe, America, Asia, and Australia.
In the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, the orchestra gave the audience joy and good mood for two hours. The performances were held in one breath, each of the numbers was accompanied by a standing ovation. At the end of the concert, the audience did not let the artists off the stage for a long time and asked them to perform an encore.
In total, the event was attended by about 2,500 people, including 200 Russian citizens living in Guangzhou and its surroundings.
The concert was organized by the Government of Moscow and the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province with the assistance of the Consulate General of Russia in Guangzhou and the Office of Foreign Affairs of Guangzhou.
